Kampa Scoop Emerging International Brand Award

The founders and directors of Britain’s 100 fastest-growing SME exporters were formally recognised at the 4th annual Sunday Times Lloyds SME Export Track 100 awards ceremony, held at the Renaissance Hotel St Pancras in London.

The SME Export Track 100 league table ranks the UK’s small and medium-sized (SME) companies with the fastest-growing international sales. The companies increased their international sales on average over the last two years by 80% a year to a total of £744m. Staff numbers rose by 2,700 over the same period to 7,900.

Over 200 guests at the dinner, which included the founders and senior directors from 87 companies, such as book publisher Nosy Crow, chocolatier Monty Bojangles and laser technology developer M Squared, were welcomed by Gareth Oakley, Managing Director of SME Banking at title sponsor Lloyds Banking Group.

The SME Export Track 100 Emerging International Brand Award, sponsored by The Sunday Times, was presented by Iain Dey, business editor, to Mark Lawless, founder and managing director of Kampa. Tents named after British beaches — including Studland, Croyde and Hayling — are distributed by Kampa to retailers in South Korea, Germany and Denmark. The Essex based company have developed their own inflatable caravan and motorhome awnings, a market in which they are the global leaders.
